Dan Hill talks to us about Strategic design, policy and the infrastructure of everyday life.

Dan Hill is director of strategic design at Vinnova. But he is also a visiting professor at the Bartlett in UCL, which is the School of Architecture and Planning and at Design Academy Eindhoven where they are beginning to think about a strategic design curriculum. On top of that he still has a post with the Mayor of London as a Design Advocate.

During the Government Transformation Summit, I had the pleasure of co-hosting a discussion table on citizen engagement. It was clear, listening to public sector officials around the table, that we are all dealing with variants of the same challenge: how to better understand the complex needs of those our services are trying to help.
